Clackamas & Oregon Pediatrics is Hiring a Patient Engagement Specialist Near Clackamas, OR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Patient Engagement Specialists are an essential part of our Population Health Team, primarily responsible for making outbound calls to coordinate and schedule visits. You will play a key role in supporting pediatric patients and their families, promoting engagement in healthcare services, and ensuring a positive experience throughout their care journey. This unique position provides an opportunity to directly contribute to the company's growth as well as improve our ability to help patients receive care.

Someone who is detail-oriented, has strong communication skills, and is very engaging on the phone. They are independent problem-solvers who strive to achieve personal goals and collaborate with the team to reach shared targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Make outbound calls to assist with scheduling our pediatric patients

· Make appointments according to our scheduling protocols, triage guidelines, and provider and/or patient preferences

· Navigate patient’s registration and medical chart via Epic, our electronic medical record system

· Comfortable using web-based programs to make calls, research insurance coverage, and more

· Thoroughly document all patient interactions and services provided

· Collect patient demographic and insurance information accurately

· Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to address patient needs, concerns, requests, and scheduling changes

· Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in patient metrics

QUALIFICATIONS

· Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with a focus on meeting the unique needs of pediatric patients and families

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage and interact effectively

· Display excellent active listening skills to better understand patient needs and navigate tough conversations gracefully

· Ability to work and make decisions independently while being a productive team member

· Capacity to prioritize tasks, hold strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities

· Possess excellent data entry skills for updating electronic health records

REQUIREMENTS

· High school diploma or equivalent

· 1-3 years' experience working in customer service and patient scheduling

· Knowledge of medical terminology, medical insurance, and basic healthcare procedures

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records systems
