PURPOSE OF POSITION
:
Works as a team member in the Division of Academic Foundations and Connections (AFaC). Serves as support to division-wide applied technical work and work closely with IT in the maintenance of current division projects, as well as support computer systems and applications. Generates applied information to assist division departments ranging from Enrollment and Student Services to Math and English and supports the Applied Information Technology Specialist, dean, associate dean, student services directors and department chairs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
:
1. Technical and Applied Information Projects Support
1.1 Support division and department users with technical projects, problem resolution, or investigate functionality improvements to better support applied information across the Academic Foundations and Connections division
1.2 Support large and small group applied information projects that involve both business and process technical changes
1.3 Respond to user questions regarding existing applied information systems
1.4 Assist with data quality initiatives
1.5 Assist with the implementation of new software applications
1.6 Troubleshoot data analysis in software applications
2. Project Management Support
2.1 Provide project management support to current Applied Information Technology Specialist
2.2 Assist with the documentation of processes, procedures, and querying procedures to support improved process flow
2.3 Assist with recording and implementing information and training solutions and methods for improving reliability and consistency of reporting and form, improving integrity of student data
2.4 Work with the Applied Information Technology team to record and maintain best practices and operational standards related to applied information systems, including data audit processes
GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, other agencies, and the general public.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.
  • Participate in college committees when requested.
  • Maintain proficiency by attending training and meetings, reading materials, and meeting with others in areas of responsibility, which may require travel.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Maintain student confidentiality, data integrity, and comply with all related college, state, and federal standards, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
:
High School diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties as described.
Ability to exemplify traits that reflect the College's culture, including integrity, a customer service orientation, cultural competency, trustworthiness, flexibility and a willingness to change.

WORKING CONDITIONS
:
The position requires minimal (20-40%) ability to use dexterity and fine motor skills assemble, build or repair machines or other objects. Frequent (51-80% of the time) use of office equipment.
The position requires little (0-5%) physical effort such as lifting, carrying, or movement, etc. Movements required to complete work are not difficult, and only require a usual degree of agility and hand eye coordination.
The work environment is well protected, with virtually no hazards or obstacles (0-5%). There is very little element of personal risk or hazard. Job conditions are usually stable, with virtually no (0-5%) issues of confinement, temperature change, incident of noise, or interactions of a disagreeable nature, inside/outside work, dirty conditions, exposure to contagious disease, etc.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Supervision of others is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.
