The Ink Tech is responsible for pulling, matching, and returning inks for production orders. Must be able to match ink on press and have knowledge of LAB values, spectrophotometer use, and ink software.

• Match ink colors for press jobs and stage inks according to production schedules, including weekend shifts.
• Ensure proper labeling of incoming and outgoing inks and maintain ink inventory software.
• Monitor ink quantities for press jobs and check pH levels of outgoing inks, maintaining pH meter calibrations.
• Manage ink inventory and create formulas based on press samples.
• Change base ink drums as needed and communicate daily with press operators.
• Maintain ink-related reports and participate in ink team meetings.
• Assist in training other associates and conduct physical ink inventories.
• Oversee hazardous waste collection, labeling, and transport, with provided RCRA training.

Qualifications

• Prior Ink Tech experience highly preferred.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence and communicate effectively with co-workers.
• Basic mathematical abilities including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are used to measure weight and volume to create, distribute, and reproduce precise ink formulas.
• Knowledge and capability to read a ruler in 16ths and 32nds increments.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions, some of which involve few concrete variables in standardized situations.
