CKC Automation LLC is Hiring a Senior Equipment Design Engineer Near Oakland, CA

Description

CKC Automation, LLC is an engineering company focused on designing and building custom manufacturing equipment for companies throughout the Bay Area and beyond.

We are currently looking for an experienced equipment design engineer to work in our Oakland facility. The engineer will be an integral member of the team designing and building custom equipment and automation for a variety of industries and applications.

The Senior Equipment Design Engineer will be responsible for designing custom equipment and automation. This will include solid modeling in SolidWorks, generation of component drawings, assembly drawings, and bill of materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical engineering for custom automation projects, including detailed designs and component drawings
  • Providing mechanical engineering support on projects being executed on the manufacturing floor (support includes: design, build guidance, materials, and resolving quality issues)
  • Identifying potential scope changes/problem areas.
  • Assuming accountability of assigned responsibilities.
  • Writing technical documents.
  • Performing advanced technical calculations.
  • Lead design reviews, internally and with customer.
  • Reviewing mechanical designs and drawings of other engineers
  • Additional job duties and responsibilities may be added at any time.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in equipment design
  • Minimum of 8 years experience designing with SolidWorks
  • Strong SolidWorks skills are required
  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical components and systems including linear actuators, pneumatic systems and industrial sensors
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently on several tasks simultaneously
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills needed to interact with personnel from a wide range of disciplines and management levels
  • Positive attitude and solid work ethic
  • Strong computer skills; fluency with Microsoft Office required
  • Experience acting as the mechanical senior expert/lead on multi-disciplinary equipment design projects preferred

Education/Training:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering is required

Physical Effort:

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee may occasionally maneuver or lift 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish color.

Environmental Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious

places, infrequently works in outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or

caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually low in the office area, and

moderate in the assembly area. There is close contact with computers.

Annual salary range: $130,000 - $170,000
