CIVITAS RESOURCES INC is Hiring a Regulatory Analyst Near Midland, TX

Summary of Position:

The Regulatory Analyst will be accountable for supporting the development of a flexible inventory of drill ready permits, reduction in sundry efforts, compliance with agency rules, and fostering agency relationships with agencies in the Permian Basin. 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting permitting and compliance processes for future inventory in the Permian Basin
  • Ensure plans comply with all regulations – state, local, federal, etc. Continue to push win-win alternatives/ideas to meet regulatory requirements/needs
  • Ensure well and location permits are submitted in an accurate and complete manner, tracked, and followed through to final approval (local/BLM/RRC/OCD/USFS/et al). Adjust/sundry permits where necessary
  • Support the local, state, and federal permitting efforts and compliance.
  • Prepare TX-RRC, TX-GLO, NM-OCD, NM-SLO, and US-BLM forms, permits, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal and agency staff to foster permit approval.
  • Develop permitting schedules, expectations, and metrics for internal planning purposes.
  • Prepare and file agency paperwork, including but not limited to local, state, and federal agencies, to facilitate pre-drill and post-drill compliance requirements.
  • Represent Civitas at hearings, public meetings, or agency inspections.
  • Interface with community leaders

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • In-depth understanding of pre- and post-drill permitting and compliance processes in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards applicable to Oil & Gas operations.
  • Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal laws and agencies. 
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple permits concurrently.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Adaptability and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience and training acceptable in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in supporting permitting and compliance programs within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Experience in Texas and/or New Mexico required.

Travel Requirements:

  • Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
  • Travel may be required to the Civitas field locations.

Base Pay Range: $130,100 - $140,000
