CIVITAS RESOURCES INC is Hiring a Facilities Engineer III (Midland Basin) Near Midland, TX

 

Summary of Position:

The Facilities Engineer III is responsible for engineering and project management support on all wellsite and midstream assets within Civitas’s Permian Basin assets, both Delaware and Midland basins. This position is responsible for new facility/pipeline design and support of current facility/pipeline infrastructure which may require retrofit to comply with new standards. The incumbent will be heavily integrated with multiple departments including day to day operating and construction teams.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively drive culture in facilities engineering and construction team, encouraging collaboration, and innovation.
  • Provides field-engineering and design support for new-construction, startups, and optimization efforts.
  • Provides scoping and engineering reviews to engineering design consultants when needed.
  • Occasionally utilizes but does not rely upon engineering firms for design and drawing support.
  • Provides on-site interpretation of engineering intent to field contractors engaged in construction of projects.
  • Prepares and facilitates MOCs for process and piping changes and PSSRs for equipment/site startups.
  • Implements in-house software products to update location designs and site security diagrams.
  • Evaluates current facility/pipeline designs and provides recommendations for enhancements to improve productivity, economics and/or regulatory compliance.
  • Engages regularly with the production operations team, in early design discussion, during construction and in post-appraisal. 
  • Develops fit-for-purpose standards and specifications for all facility projects.
  • Collaborates across basins to establish standardized designs and equipment preferences to optimize costs and procurement processes.
  • Performs feasibility studies, scope development, AFE cost estimates, bid preparation, and overall project management of assigned projects.
  • Leads efforts on equipment design to meet current and future air regulations with focus on capturing economic emissions and frequent collaboration with the Regulatory department.
  • Partners with EHS&R on process safety management and assures all current/future midstream assets are within applicable standards and regulations.
  • Provides expertise on any future gathering or processing facilities needed – interface with and communicate effectively with the midsteam and marketing teams to meet production deadlines.
  • Collaborates with production and midstream operations for on-going technical engineering support for trouble shooting, optimization and identification of de-bottlenecking opportunities. 
  • Provides timely and on-budget completion of assigned projects.
  • Performs all other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Advanced understanding of Oil and Gas operations, including processes, process control schemes, equipment, methods of documentation (P&IDs, PFDs, electrical drawings, etc), and typical roles and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations as well as best practices with a strong emphasis on process safety.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills to manage multiple projects across different functional groups.
  • Comfortable providing onsite support to facilities, from construction phase to operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles and techniques to the design of new equipment and troubleshooting of existing equipment.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Vendor management experience.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering required. 
  • Minimum 10 years relevant Oil and Gas engineering experience.
  • Ability to pass Civitas’s pre-employment hiring process and maintain a clean driving record.

Travel Requirements:

  • Work is performed at a CIVI location M-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Friday.
  • Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
  • Travel required to field locations in Southern New Mexico and West Texas outside of Midland/Odessa – initial travel expectations are biweekly to familiarize with field team and current assets. Travel for on-site PSSRs and facility reviews as scheduled, with minimum site visits expected monthly. Other travel includes to corporate Denver offices to establish and build culture.
