Summary of Position:

As an Advisor, Solution Design and Delivery with our dynamic digital organization, you will play a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation journey in the production & field operations domain. This critical position is designed for a visionary leader adept at blending digital solutions expertise, operations know-how, strategic planning, and leadership skills to navigate the complexities of Digital transformation. You will be forging strong partnerships with business stakeholders, deeply understanding operational and strategic needs, and orchestrating the development and deployment of digital solutions. The role demands a blend of industry-specific knowledge, digital technology expertise, and leadership acumen to navigate the unique challenges of an Exploration & Production (E&P) business.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive digital solution strategy and roadmap that aligns with the organization’s vision and the specific nuances of the E&P business.
  • Understand the intricate needs, challenges, and opportunities, translating them into digital initiatives that drive efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
  • Identify and prioritize digital initiatives based on business impact, feasibility, and strategic importance, ensuring a clear path for digital innovation and transformation.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and adoption of digital technologies and solutions that meet the unique requirements of the operations.
  • Manage and nurture partnerships with technology vendors, service providers, and industry consortia to leverage external expertise and innovations.
  • Serve as a vital bridge between the digital transformation team and business units, establishing strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the value chain.
  • Oversee the end-to-end process of solution design and deployment, ensuring projects are executed with precision, on time, and within budget.
  • Employ robust project management methodologies to manage complex, cross-functional projects that span multiple business units and geographies.
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and processes, minimizing disruption and maximizing employee engagement and productivity.
  • Design and deliver training programs and support frameworks to empower users and foster a culture of digital proficiency.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages cross-pollination of ideas between the digital team and operational, engineering, and business departments.
  • Influence and align diverse stakeholder groups, including senior management, to ensure buy-in and support for digital initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of emerging digital trends, technologies, and best practices in the Oil & Gas industry, integrating innovative solutions that can provide competitive advantage.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and agile response to market and technological changes.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Proficient knowledge of current and emerging digital technologies (e.g., AI, Edge analytics, ERP systems, Historian, Computer Vision etc.) and their application in automating field operations.
  • Deep understanding of field operations workflows, standards, and regulations, particularly as they apply to the E&P business.
  • Solid grasp of the Oil & Gas sector's operational, regulatory, and economic environment.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) for the successful delivery of digital projects.
  • Ability to develop and articulate a clear digital transformation strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and industry trends.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the capability to inspire, motivate, and guide diverse teams towards achieving digital transformation objectives.
  • Exceptional skills in managing and influencing stakeholders across various levels of the organization, ensuring buy-in and support for digital initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to tackle complex problems, making data-driven decisions that drive forward digital solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex digital concepts to non-technical stakeholders and fostering effective collaboration across teams.
  • A relentless drive for innovation, constantly seeking out new technologies and processes that can enhance the finance and accounting functions.
  • Ability to adapt to rapid technological and business changes, maintaining focus and composure in a fast-evolving industry landscape.
  • Focused on achieving outcomes, demonstrating a clear focus on setting and meeting digital project goals and business objectives.
  • Proficiency in leading change, addressing the human side of digital transformation to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and processes.
  • Upholding the highest ethical standards, particularly in managing financial data and adhering to regulatory requirements within the Oil & Gas sector.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Systems, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Professional certifications relevant to digital transformation, digital production solutions, project management, lean management is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with a significant focus on deploying digital solutions within the Oil & Gas (E&P) industry.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering successful digital transformation projects, indicating an ability to manage complex, technology-driven initiatives from conception through to implementation.
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning and execution within a digital context, demonstrating the capability to align digital solutions with business objectives and industry demands.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams and projects, highlighting skills in team building, motivation, and achieving results through collaboration.
  • Significant experience in stakeholder management, adept at engaging with and influencing senior executives, business unit leaders, and external partners to drive digital adoption and transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the latest digital technologies and their application in improving visibility, productivity, compliance and automation.

Travel Requirements:

  • Work is performed at a CIVI location M-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
  • 10-20% Travel required to other Civitas offices and field locations in US.

Base Pay Range: $150,000 - $200,000
