Summary:Environment, Health and Science is seeking to hire one intern for the summer of 2024 to assist with projects in the Lead Service Line Inventory project, Stormwater Management Program, Fats, Oils & Grease (FOG) Programs and other programs. Additional duties will include learning and assisting with a variety of programs managed by Environment Health and Science. Students from all demographics are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
40% - Assist staff with follow up, sampling, QC, and various customer service and testing related to the Lead Service Line Inventory.
20% - Assist staff with data collection, investigations, public outreach/education, and documentation pertaining to the Stormwater Management Plan.
20% - Assist staff with data collection, investigations, public outreach/education, and documentation pertaining to the Fats, Oils & Grease (FOG) Program.
20% - Conduct other Environment, Health and Science program implementation duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current student enrolled in an Environment, Health or Science-related field working towards a degree. Applicant should be well-organized and detail-oriented. Positive, responsible, safety-oriented, and good interpersonal approach with people. Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets and database programs desired. Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and capable of operating a City vehicle. The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check and post offer City physical and drug screen.
