JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, performs repairs of all water and wastewater infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, water mains, water services, water taps, fire hydrants, valves, sewer mains, sewer services, manholes, and cleanouts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Follow written and oral directions

2. Use/operate various hand and power tools used in the repair and maintenance of the water and wastewater systems

3.Under supervision, perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.

4. Work an “on-call schedule” as assigned to respond to afterhours emergencies.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: 

5. Safely operate heavy equipment which includes, but is not limited to, front end loader, tractor/backhoe, tandem axle dump truck.

6. Positively represent the City of Arlington and the Water Department in all interactions with others.
