JOBSUMMARY:Performsa variety of technical and field engineering work in the design andconstruction of capital engineering projects.

ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS:1.Ability to assist in the design and preparation of architectural/engineering plans,maps, specifications, and cost estimates in connection with the constructionand maintenance of a variety of capital projects; prepares illustrative graphicssuch as exhibits, charts, illustrations, graphs, and location maps using ArcMap.

2.Ability to perform computer aided design (CAD) drafting in AutoCAD andcomputing operations in the preparationof a wide variety of architectural/engineering drawings and plans.

3.Ability to provide information and assistance to contractors, developers, architects,engineers, and the general public on architectural/engineering services andactivities; respond to general inquiries; research maps and records; ensureissues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.

4.Ability to assist architectural/engineering staff by preparing contractspecifications for use by contractors in submitting bids for construction projectsand assist staff with all pre-bid activities including sending out bid notifications,assisting with the preparation of addendums to bidders and preparation of thebid tabulation.

5.Ability to assist architectural/engineering staff by scheduling pre-bid, sitereview and pre-construction meetings.

6.Ability to prepare routine correspondence and report detailing status of architectural/engineeringdesign or construction projects planned or underway.

OTHERJOB FUNCTIONS:
7.Ability to research building code, ordinances, energy code, Texas AccessibilityStandards (TAS), and incorporate into construction projects during design phaseof the project.

8. Ability to workwith other departments during project development.
