City Year Milwaukee (CYMKE) was founded in 2010 and will deploy AmeriCorps members serving in 8 Milwaukee Public Schools for the 2024-25 school year. Job Description Learning and Development Design and Implementation Develop a vision and strategy for the 10-month learning and development programming for City Milwaukee AmeriCorps members that meets the dual mission of our organization: (1) the AmeriCorps members’ professional development and (2) their ability to provide high quality educational support in Milwaukee Public Schools Ensure dynamic training is provided that aligns L&D sessions with AmeriCorps members’ learning objectives and uses multiple learning modalities Engages content experts to deliver lessons about the AmeriCorps members’ service, work with students, social justice, and their personal growth Leverage the Impact Department and staff across the site to support AmeriCorps members’ L&D programming Manage the L&D programming logistics to allow training days to run smoothly and foster belonging and learning for the corps Serve on the DBIE Council to ensure intentional integration of DBIE topics in the Americorps member learning arc Managing all aspects of Americorps Member compliance, including adherence to program guidelines, regulations, and reporting requirements. Corps Experiential Programming Oversee and manage committees in the intentional planning of programming to foster community at key points during AmeriCorps members’ service year (beginning of service year, mid-year, spring break, and graduation) Support Implementation of Observation and Coaching Programming Support the delivery of observation and coaching for the site to ensure that all staff and Team Leaders are using consistent measures to guide corps members in improving their intervention practices Provide opportunities to introduce tools and centering information to foster consistency of program implementation Oversee Evaluation of AmeriCorps Member Experience Data As member of Impact Leadership team, collaborate with Managing Director of Impact about data systems that track AmeriCorps Member Experience Data. Ensure the program is responsive to the corps by leading the continuous improvement process and implementing program modifications accordingly while leveraging appropriate resources and committees Manage the Growth and Development of the Service Team Support the development and professional growth of the staff members on the Service and Learning Team This may be the job for you if you: Experience delivering results while balancing the priorities of multiple, interconnected workstreams Have strong management skills and are able to adapt and be solution oriented in an ever-changing environment Are able to connect different strategies and goals to design a 10-month long learning arch Have public speaking and presentation skills with the demonstrated ability to communicate a vision and inspire others Have success implementing needs-based assessment tools to gather feedback and data in order to inform strategic goals and implement feedback Have experience operating in ambiguous and changing environments with the ability to lead a team to meet results. Have passion for and understanding of City Year’s work within the national service movement and education sphere Have the ability to build sustainable partnerships and develop a network of L&D professionals, as well as maintain positive working relationships with others Experience working with K-12 classrooms, schools or similar learning environment is a plus Content expertise in English Language Arts, math or behavior management is a plus Basic Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing training programs, preferably in an educational setting. Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to oversee staff and coordinate multiple workstreams effectively. Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities, to effectively convey the organization's vision and inspire others. Experience in conducting needs assessments and utilizing feedback mechanisms to inform strategic decision-making and program improvements. Ability to adapt to ambiguity and changing environments, with a track record of successfully leading teams to achieve desired outcomes. Passion for and understanding of the mission and goals of City Year and the national service movement in the education sector. Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders, including L&D professionals and educational institutions. Experience working in K-12 classrooms, schools, or similar educational environments is highly preferred. Content expertise in English Language Arts, math, or behavior management is a plus, demonstrating the ability to support AmeriCorps members in delivering high-quality interventions to students. Compensation and Benefits Starting salary range: $60 – 65k, commensurate with experience.
