Number of Positions: 1 Position Overview The Community Partnerships and Events Manager leads the strategy of local recruitment efforts by identifying and developing local partnerships through community outreach to create a strong pipeline of prospective City Year Site AmeriCorps Members. The Community Partnerships and Events Manager in Jacksonville will partner with the National Corps Talent Acquisition Team to aid in their efforts and help illuminate local challenges. Job Description Partnership Development and Outreach Identify and assess community & youth facing organizations as well as educational institutions (high schools, community colleges, local organizations) within Jacksonville and Northeast Florida that can become City Year Jacksonville (CYJax) Champions and Amplifiers. Identify and attend community recruitment events and speaking opportunities to share City Year ACM opportunities. Deepen opportunities to source candidates from Duval County Public Schools (DCPS), by partnering with site staff on a holistic district partnership approach. Build partnerships with organizations to aid in increasing the AmeriCorps Member experience which in turn helps with recruitment (re: housing supports, childcare, university benefits, etc.) Recruitment Marketing & Communications: create and tweak local recruitment materials in partnership with HQ provided materials and locally created materials. Data Management: track all community partnership efforts in TargetX and local CYJax trackers including events, emails sent, mailings made, etc. Generate quarterly status updates, at minimum, regarding Community Partnership inputs and outputs. Communications Content Execution Gather content of impact to share through a variety of platforms in alignment with the communications strategy. Support corps members to post on social media and share stories of their service. Work closely with needs of the site when creating messages on social media: provide updates of corps member service, support recruitment efforts, share important updates related to education in the news, etc. Non-fundraising Event Logistics Responsible for helping to plan and execute City Year annual programs and events, which could include but is not limited to: Opening Day Kickoff, MLK Day, and Graduation. Secure necessary vendors, obtain quotes, secure contracts, and monitor vendor performance to ensure City Year receives exceptional service and value. Assist with messaging for events, to be used for external affairs, event program speaking points, and media. Document and maintain record of written materials and documents for future reference, including feedback from site leadership, staff, volunteer leadership, vendors, and others to evaluate effectiveness of event. Provide a written summary of event goals, accomplishments, and recommendations for improvement. Recommend new engagement opportunities and implement best practices for future events. Site and Organizational Collaboration Lead in any regular site centering meetings with staff or departments concerning recruitment and community partnership efforts which work to drive lead generation. Support organization wide CPM efforts and cross-site collaboration opportunities. Qualifications 1-2 years of professional experience in recruitment/youth development/community development 1-2 years of professional experience in event planning and event execution Strong communications, writing, and editing skills to ensure connectivity to mission and appropriate style and usage. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines and take initiative in managing several projects with the utmost attention to detail. Ability to travel within the community and work in a variety of spaces/settings to include schools, office, home and other special events locations. Solution-oriented critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude. Knowledge of basic graphic design and use of Canva for marketing materials that adhere to organizational guidelines. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with diverse backgrounds, interests, and skills in a collaborative environment.
