Responsibilities for the Housing Specialist:
  • Provide guidance to clientele in completing program applications and required documentation.
  • Conduct intake procedures to asses clients' housing needs, deem eligibility, and provide references for housing assistance programs.
  • Verify applicant eligibility through income, household composition, and other relevant factors.
  • Calculate the amount of housing assistance to be provided based on program regulations and client eligibility.
  • Maintain positive relationships with landlords and property managers to expand housing options for clientele.
  • Monitor tenant compliance with program requirements, including rental obligations and lease compliance.
  • Document and report any violations or discrepancies to appropriate parties.
  • Collaborate with local agencies and resources to promote housing assistance programs.
  • Maintain accurate records on pending, approved, and rejected applications, and provide applicants with appropriate and timely updates.
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications of the Housing Specialist:
  • Previous experience in housing assistance programs, property management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and location housing regulations and policies.
  • Strong detail-orientation and follow up skills.
  • Proven capability to adeptly juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a team environment.
  • Spanish speaking, writing, and reading abilities a plus.
Salary:
$25.00-$30.00 per hour
