Starting Salary: $44,103.60 / $21.20/hr
Pay Grade Z-19
Non-Exempt

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in related field.
- Three (3) years’ experience in administrative work.
- Equivalent work experience in planning in a government entity may be substituted.
- Must have computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, organization and time management skills.
- Willingness to work collaboratively as a team as well as individually.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Provides expertise in relevant historical subject matter as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Responsible for identification, evaluation, documentation, registration, planning, education, programs, and activities for the protection of cultural and historical resources.
- Provide technical, architectural, design, historical, and policy guidance to city staff, City Council, government officials, and boards and committees about preservation related projects. Provide information and technical assistance to property owners, private development interests, realtors and the general public.
- Review or assist with the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans, regulations and city policies; interpret and update historic district guidelines and standards.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- The selected candidate will have a background check completed and complete a physical exam before employment.
- Possession of a current valid Florida driver license is also required before employment.
The compensation package will start at the base salary range and may vary based on proven abilities of the individual selected. The City of Zephyrhills has an excellent benefit package, which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and Florida Retirement System (FRS).
