Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
General knowledge of the use and adjustment of Total station, Robotic total station, GPS, and levels; general knowledge of land survey, nomenclature, and symbols; general knowledge of engineering mathematics; general knowledge of engineering maps and records; ability to perform precise survey work and reduce field notes; ability to understand and work from oral and written instructions and sketches; ability to work out of doors under varying weather conditions; skill in the use of engineering survey instruments.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and some experience in land survey work.
Physical Requirements This work requires the regular exertion of up to 50 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions and frequently walking, sitting and tasting or smelling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, using of measuring devices, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires working near moving mechanical equipment, exposure to fumes or airborne particles and exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to vibration; work can be exposed to a loud noise location (e.g. construction site, heavy traffic).
