City of Whitewater is Hiring a Tournament Concessions Near Park, WI

The Tournament Concessions position will assist with the operation of the concessions building at the Starin Park Treyton’s Field of Dreams complex during baseball and softball tournaments.
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.
  • Greets and welcomes customers
  • Performs concession duties, including food sales, maintaining cleanliness, operating point of sale terminal transactions.
  • Food preparation following health and safety food guidelines.
  • Restocking of supplies.
  • Performs opening and closing duties as required.
  • Responsible for cash register operations, with the ability to accurately make change.
  • Arrives to work on time and when scheduled. 
  • Adhere to the City of Whitewater policies
  • Convey a courteous and professional attitude

Education and/or Experience
  • Current High School students age 16 years and older. College students and retirees encouraged to apply.
  • Previous retail experience, with money handling, preferred.
Language Skills
  • Ability to analyze data and information using established criteria, in order to determine consequences and to identify and select alternatives. Ability to compare, count, differentiate, measure, copy, record and transcribe data and information. Ability to classify, compute, tabulate, and categorize data.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with participants, City personnel, Department personnel and City residents.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to perform cashier duties accurately.
  • Ability to interpret basic descriptive statistical reports.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness and creativity required in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory and/or judgmental criteria.
Other Qualifications
  • Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public.
  • Ability to work effectively in cooperation with fellow employees as a member of the Parks and Recreation staff.

  • Ability to coordinate eyes, hands, feet and limbs in performing slightly skilled movements such as typing and to operate various pieces of office equipment.
  • Ability to recognize and identify degrees of similarities and differences between characteristics of colors, shapes and textures associated with job-related objects, materials and tasks.

  • Since all tournaments are located outside, weather elements may include rain, cold, heat, wind, freezing rain, snow, fog, etc.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet with intermittent increased noise levels due to patron interactions.
