City of Waynesboro is Hiring a WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR Near Waynesboro, VA
Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Operator
The City of Waynesboro is seeking a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Operator. Individuals with no previous experience will have 18 months to obtain their Class IV water license.
The Water Treatment Plant Operator works as a member of the WTP team to ensure water is properly treated in order to provide safe drinking water to the community. Typical duties involve monitoring and operating equipment, making repairs, and collecting test samples. The majority of work is performed at the WTP, however operators are required to conduct sampling, and other activities throughout the City as needed.
Shift and weekend work required.
HS diploma or GED required.
Valid drivers license is required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs to include Word, Excel, etc. is preferred.
Starting Salary is $37,925 with the potential for pay increases for acquiring additional skills and or/education.
Personnel who currently hold a valid water license may potentially start at a higher salary.
