Your Role
The Parks and Recreation Lead Aide ($17.00 per hour) duties will include, but not be limited to:
Supervising part time staff , volunteers, and Community Service Workers
Majority of the workday is in an outdoor environment in various weather conditions.
Open and close facilities
Documentation and record keeping such as reporting incidents and accidents.
Providing customer service and enforce rules and regulations.
Provide routine maintenance and construction of park areas, amenities, and equipment.
Cleaning and maintaining all parts of large public restrooms (custodial services) and changing rooms on a daily basis.
Travel and care for satellite park locations
Perform horticultural functions and landscape/general maintenance, construction, and litter removal for parks, building sites, roadways and school sites; repair functions necessary to maintain designated public areas such as: Operate lawnmowers, weed-eaters, light automotive equipment, common gardening/hand tools, various motorized equipment, and edging/trimming equipment; apply safety precautions accordingly.
Load and unload tools, equipment, dirt, gravel, clay, and sand for project assignments
Assist mulching, maintaining, and weeding plant and shrub beds, lawn areas, and walkways
Prune and trim trees and shrubs, clear undeveloped areas, install plants
Empty and disposal of trash collected from multiple large park trash cans on a daily basis.
Adapt to a constantly changing set of priorities and environment.
Lift equipment and supplies that may weigh up to 50 pounds (occasionally heavier), 15-20 times an hour for 1-2 hours daily
Assist with and/or manage special event participation.
Work effectively independently and as a member of a team when appropriate.
Work during emergencies, extreme weather conditions, inclement/adverse weather, or other essential operating periods to perform vital services, such as storm damage cleanup, snow removal, and other duties as required
Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs.
