Part-Time - Janitorial

Job Summary -

Responsible for providing custodial support to school buildings. Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment. Will perform general janitorial cleaning throughout the school day and will contribute to the general upkeep of the school. Will report to a lead custodian. School janitor / custodian will work five hour per day, a maximum of 25 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities for this position may include (but are not limited to):

• Daily cleaning of all school-used spaces
• Thoroughly cleaning/sanitizing and/or dusting all hard surfaces in restrooms, classrooms, offices, cafeteria, and other spaces
• Checking and restocking restroom supplies (tissue, paper towels, soap) in all dispensers throughout the school daily
• Emptying restroom, classroom, office, hallway, and cafeteria garbage cans throughout each day; carrying garbage to outside dumpsters; washing garbage cans as needed
• Vacuuming, sweeping, dust mopping, and mopping
• Cleaning Restroom Areas - Toilets and Floors
• Keeping all janitorial and cleaning supplies organized, stocked, and stored safely in the assigned locations
• Ensuring that the school building is ready in the morning by walking through the building 30 minutes prior to the school start time, ensuring that garbage can liners are in place and that restrooms are stocked

Physical Demands

Light to Moderate Work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force. Moving objects to clean around them. The work also requires following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, crouching, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, and walking.
