Introduction
The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department is looking for experienced, enthusiastic
MUSIC CLASS INSTRUCTORS
To teachGuitar, Drums and / or Piano Music Programs at various City of Tucson recreation centers.
This position provides service to the patrons of the City of Tucson Parks & Recreation LeisureClass programs and is responsible for planning, instructing and supervising a specialized class orprogram.
Instruction may target groups across the age and ability spectrum.
General Description
This is a non-permanent position that will work on an intermittent or seasonal basis.
Individuals in this classification may not exceed 1,300 hours in a 12-month period.
Classes will be held at Randolph Recreation Center and Morris K. Udall Recreation Center
Classes are scheduled various days throughout the week to include Saturday and Sunday mornings
This position provides service to the patrons of the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Leisure Class program and is responsible for planning and conducting specialized skill acquisitions classes.
Please note that the position of Class Instructor encompasses multiple specialized recreational areas and site locations, classes are held throughout the week, with various day and evening classes as well as Saturdays.
Essential Functions
Minimum Qualifications
Six (6) months post high school and one (1) year of directly related experience. *Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Special Job Requirements
All candidates must be able to obtain CPR / First Aid Certification and pass a background screening upon hire.
Selection Plan
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated on the education and work experience in their employment profile and the response to the supplemental questions.
The highest scoring applicants will be placed in the "Best Qualified" and "Qualified" band (grouping) and provided to the hiring department for a selection decision.
An applicant’s placement on the list will be based on their final score which will be calculated as :
