City of Tomball is Hiring a Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor Near Tomball, TX

The City of Tomball is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor. This position is responsible for overseeing the activities connected with operation and maintenance of the City's wastewater collection system and treatment plant faculties. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines, particularly in the management of wastewater products. The Supervisor should be proficient in executing tasks that align with the stipulations of TCEQ regulations and will manage a team of senior plant operators and a plant operator.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

Education High School diploma/GED or equivalent

Experience Minimum of 4 years previous relevant work experience is required.

Certifications

Licensing TCEQ Class B Wastewater Operator license required; Class A Wastewater Operator license preferred. Class B Water Operator license also preferred.

WWTP Foreman functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Operational Oversight: Supervise and participate in the operations, maintenance and monitoring of the wastewater treatment plants and lift stations while ensuring compliance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) rules and regulations. Ensure daily checks and operations of the plants to maintain compliance. Maintains work areas, tools and equipment in a safe and orderly condition; performs operations and maintenance activities in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Wastewater Compliance: Review and interpret laboratory data to ensure that the facilities meet compliance standards. Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as per TCEQ regulations.
  • Team Supervision: Direct and manage plant operations staff, ensuring effective and efficient operations.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of facility equipment. Procure quotes for repair and maintenance activities from different vendors and contractors.
  • Facility Upgrades: Collaborate with engineers and contractors, making recommendations for future improvements and upgrades for facility operations and maintenance.
  • Communication: Respond to daily emails and phone calls, ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders. Coordinate smoothly with contractors for scheduled work and maintenance tasks.
  • Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, ensuring smooth operations and compliance at all times. Capable of making decisions that enhance the efficiency of the treatment plants and collaborating effectively with engineers, contractors, and vendors.

Pumps, Motors, Crane truck, backhoe and front-end loader. Computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SCADA and Assest management Software.

SALARY:

  • Hiring Range: $61,776 - $64,865 ($29.70-$31.19)
  • Salary Range: $61,776 - $92,664

**Starting salary is dependent on experience and qualifications**
