Description

The City of Thousand Oaks has an excellent opportunity for a temporary part-time position with the Information Technology Division of the Finance Department . This schedule is flexible and will not exceed 29 hours per week or 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th).

Primary Responsibilities

Support IT Division management and technical staff with various IT HelpDesk support issues including hardware, software, Internet, and telecommunications issues.

  • Install, diagnose, repair and maintain PC equipment, peripherals, and related software
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware problems
  • Prepare PCs for installation by imaging and configuring Windows PCs
  • Assist with system upgrades Citywide as workstation patches and/or updates are applied
  • Assist with the disposal of surplus equipment to e-Waste programs
  • Participate in annual physical inventory of PC workstation and related equipment
  • Work a flexible schedule between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Ideal Candidate

  • Solid desktop technical skills
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems, hardware, upgrades, and new workstation setups
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Ability to life and carry hardware and peripherals
  • Ability to promote and maintain effective customer service relations
  • Ability to work well with others and be a team player
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written

QUALIFICATIONS:

A valid class C California driver’s license is required.
