Experience a fun yet fulfilling summer with the Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation Adaptive Summer Camp. Be part of helping children and young adults with special needs have the best summer ever! Join us for the summer of 2024 to help foster growth, celebrate differences, and cultivate fun!

We are seeking creative, compassionate individuals to support the Adaptive Summer Camp. Our “Amped Up” program provides children and young adults with disabilities an enriching, inclusive, and empowering summer camp experience. 

Camp runs Tuesday through Friday from June 18 – August 2. Other required trainings scheduled throughout the month of June.

Summer Day Camp Adaptive Aide ($12.50-$13.50/hr)

• Engage with and assist campers during a variety of activities including sports, games, arts & crafts, field trips, etc.
• Monitor the safety and well-being of campers.
• Assist with activity planning and implementation as assigned.

Aide Minimum Qualifications

• • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Experience working with special needs individuals preferred but not required.
  • Must pass background check and complete CPR, First Aid and Concussion training. CPR and First Aid training dates will be available through the Sterling Heights Fire Department upon employment.
