MThe Sterling Heights Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting applications for the part-time position of Park Monitor!

Under the direct supervision of the Park Superintendent, the Park Monitor is responsible for the safety and cleanliness of all parks in the City of Sterling Heights. This position requires frequent driving, standing and lifting in all weather conditions. This position is year round or seasonal, part time, with a maximum of 1400 hours in a year (up to 40hrs/wk). Starting rate of pay is $14.00 per hour.

Position Responsibilities

• Litter and garbage control in parks
• Opening and closing of parks and restrooms
• Park pavilion rentals
• Enforcing general park rules
• General park maintenance and reporting
• Assisting with setup and teardown of special events and programs

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid Driver's License.
• Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
• Must be available to work during the day, evenings, and weekends.
