City of Sterling Heights, MI is Hiring a Field Monitor Near Sterling, MI

The City of Sterling Heights Parks & Recreation Department is seeking applicants for part-time Field Monitors!

Field Monitors are responsible for assisting in the implementation of youth and adult leagues, as well as field rentals. Monitors must be able to work evenings and some holidays. The starting rate is $13.50 per hour, and all positions will receive an increase on July 1, 2024.

Position Responsibilities

  • Opening and closing park facilities
  • Ball field set-up and tear-down
  • Trash and litter removal
  • Keeping restrooms tidy
  • Reporting scores, park-related issues, and other items that warrant Supervisor attention
  • Provide courteous service to all patrons
  • Position requires night and weekend availability, however, schedules will likely change each week based on department need

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a background check and complete CPR/First Aid training
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours
  • Previous field maintenance and baseball/softball experience is not required, but is encouraged
