This is unskilled, limited semi-skilled, and semi-skilled manual work serving the City’s Neighborhood Team (N-Team) in providing community improvements and assisting qualified homeowners with various home repairs addressing City Code violations, including, but not limited to, disabled accessibility improvements, carpentry, painting, plumbing, roof patching, masonry work, debris removal and yard maintenance. Work involves driving a motor vehicle, using the required standard hand/power tools, small turf/landscaping equipment, various construction equipment to perform tasks of a manual nature, and other related work. An employee in this class must be able to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time, sometimes under unfavorable weather conditions and perform required work above ground level using extension ladders up to 32’.
Salary: $15.99 - $22.15 Hourly**

**The starting salary and selection into a Maintenance Worker position, at level I or level II, will depend upon qualifications and experience.The starting pay at level II is $16.47 Hourly.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
The successful candidate must be either a resident of the City of St. Petersburg as of his or her date of employment, or establish primary residency within the city limits of St. Petersburg within six months of completing the probationary period. Furthermore, as long as the successful candidate is employed in this classification, he or she must reside within the city limits of St. Petersburg. This requirement is not applicable to current City employees who were hired before October 20, 1997.Selection Process
