This is technical civil engineering related work for the Water Resources Department performing preliminary plan design and drafting and associated supportive and administrative work for public works utility construction projects of moderate complexity. Work involves preparing preliminary and final construction drawings and designs, under the direction of a professional engineer, for utility main extensions and services using CADD software and using survey data, project drawings and verbal descriptions, updating and maintaining charts, graphs, drawings and City utility records and maps by using CADD and/or GIS. Work includes assisting customers with inquiries and processing new customer service requests; assisting field operations crews with locating utility mains and valves via GIS and maps; preparing and coordinating permit documents and records; preparing and maintaining reports and records on the status of on-going division projects. Reviewing field notes and sketches and updating intersection drawings. Assisting in coordination of easement acquisitions and preparing legal descriptions on parcels of land and rights-of-ways. Performing other related administrative support duties including data entry and retrieval, organizing records and file maintenance such as utility construction cost estimate tracking and processing for moderately complex public works utility construction projects.
Salary:$22.76 - $34.80 Hourly
