Entry-level professional planning work of a difficult and responsible nature in connection with growth and orderly development of the City in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan and other statutes, ordinances and regulations related to land use. Coordinates a variety of assigned planning programs focusing on zoning compliance, but may also include land use, subdivision and minor development permitting and comprehensive planning of recreation, parks, off-street parking, public centers, and transportation routes. Based upon the area of assignment, employees may be responsible for planning work in specialized areas such as urban design, historic preservation, economic development, transportation, and comprehensive planning. Work involves wide latitude for independent judgment as to details and execution. Work is performed under general supervision and reports to the Community Development Director.
