Job Number: 2024-18Closes: Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 11:59pmSpringfield Police DepartmentJob Hours: Shift WorkRepresented: SPAGrade: 217Non-Exempt, Full-time.Full Benefits including PERS. *Benefit enrolled employees and dependents have access to a free, on-site health and wellness center.Starting at $27.50 per hour, based on qualifications and on the Oregon Pay Equity Act, plus an additional 5% for a Bachelor's Degree and/or 2.5% for intermediate Spanish ability. Position Overview: The Community Service Officer supports the duties of the Patrol Bureau operations and the Community Services Unit in the Springfield Police Department. This position responds to non-emergency calls for service such as arranging for the towing of vehicles, retrieving stolen and recovered property, and providing assistance at accident scenes. This position is non-sworn (i.e. doesn’t attend the Police Academy), but is a great opportunity to learn about the Springfield Police Department and a career in law enforcement. The ideal Community Service Officer candidate will have a passion for serving others and having a positive impact in the community.
