Join the City Clerk's Office as a City Clerk Administrative Specialist!
The City Clerk’s Office is often the first point of contact with citizens. Staff members in the office maintain official records and documents for the City, maintain schedules and provide clerical support for the Mayor, City Council, and task forces, post notice of public meetings guided by Missouri law, prepare agendas and minutes for City Council meetings and various boards and commissions, prepare official proclamations issued by the Mayor, provide information on City Council actions to citizens, notify the Public Involvement Committee, Mayor and City Manager of board and commission vacancies, and prepare ballots and legal notices for city elections and referendums.
As a City Clerk Administrative Specialist, you will prepare agendas, produce meeting summaries, and perform responsible minute taking. You will prepare, process, and maintain various records, reports, files, and databases which are moderately complex in nature and will perform clerical office duties such as preparing and maintaining correspondence, forms, reports, records, and other materials.
The ideal candidate will have strong grammar skills, be a self-starter, work autonomously, and be adaptable to unplanned changes, as well as possess strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.

Qualifications and Requirements
Experience, Education, and Training:
Requires at least two years of experience in general office work;
OR
Two years of related college or vocational education from an accredited college/university.
PREFERRED
Experience with an emphasis on contact with the public.
Candidates must successfully complete a clerical test demonstrating effective and proper use of the English language, which may include proficiency in typing, proofreading, spelling, punctuation, and sentence clarity.
Licensing/Certification:
Must possess a valid driver’s license and, in some cases, provide own vehicle for on-the-job transportation purposes.
