City Of South Lake Tahoe is Hiring an Associate Civil Engineer (Construction/Facilities Management) Near South Lake Tahoe, CA

The City of South Lake Tahoe is seeking a talented candidate to fill an Associate Civil Engineer position. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a collaborative team environment and experience in Public Works engineering and project management. 

The responsibilities of the Associate Civil Engineer will include managing and upgrading City Facilities. This position will report to the Facilities Program Manager. The work will involve assistance with constructing a new $70 million Recreation & Aquatics Center, a new $20 million Design/Build fire station, and upgrades to City facilities related to energy-saving retrofits and other upgrades identified in a recently completed Conditions Assessment Report. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of facilities design and maintenance, construction management, and experience in preparing grant applications. A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or similar fields is required. Possession of a Civil Engineering License or Architectural License in California or the ability to obtain one within one year of employment is required.

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.
Experience:
Two years of responsible professional civil engineering experience performing duties comparable to those of an Assistant Engineer in the City of South Lake Tahoe.

License or Certificate:

Possession of a valid California or Nevada driver's license or ability to receive one.
Possession of a valid Certificate of Registration as a professional civil engineer in the State of California or the ability to obtain within twelve months of employment if registered in another stateThe conditions herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with some travel to different sites; occasionally works in outside weather conditions; incumbents may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends and may be required to travel outside City boundaries to attend meetings.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
