WATER SYSTEMS OPERATOR
The City of Sidney is seeking qualified individuals to apply for the position of Water Systems Operator in the Water
Department. Must be motivated, dependable and hardworking. The position performs semi-skilled maintenance work for City water and sewer facilities and systems.

Required Responsibilities:

• Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a respectful and professional manner with customers, the general public, co-workers, management and other individuals that you come into contact with during work hours.
• Work safely without presenting a direct or perceived threat to self or others.
• Adhere to and follow established policies and procedures.
• Attendance during regularly scheduled work hours.
• Must be able to work more than forty hours, if needed, including evenings; weekends and holidays; work may not conform to a schedule of regular eight hour days.
• Must be able to test for, and obtain, a Grade 3 Water Operator’s License after 3 years and a Grade 6 Backflow

Operator License within1 year

Minimum Requirements Preferred Qualifications
Must have High School Diploma or GED Nebraska CDL License - must obtain within a year
Good driving record Previous equipment or construction experience desired
18 years of age or older
CDL Learner’s Permit required within 25 days

Important Info

• $19.66 w/o CDL; $20.49 with CDL
• Typically work 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with a ½ hour lunch period; however, must be able to work more than forty hours, if needed, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to be on-call after a sufficient training period

• The City provides shirts for the Water department
• Bi-weekly pay schedule
