The City of Sherwood is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional

Senior Information Technology Analyst!

Sherwood is located in Washington County, a hub for microchip and advanced manufacturing, with a population of approximately 450,000 residents. Washington County communities serve as great places to raise families for those working in Portland as well as neighboring employment centers that make up the metro region.  
PURPOSE OF POSITION: 
Under general supervision and in a lead capacity, perform and coordinate highly technical and complex information systems work. Responsibilities include architecting, deployment, security, and maintenance; and analyzing the efficiency of current city systems, assessing current and future systems’ needs, and making recommendations for improvements, policy changes, and hardware or software acquisitions. In cooperation with the Senior Network Engineer and IT Analyst, ensure the security of the city’s information systems and networks. Provide a high level of customer service through daily interactions with city staff, outside agencies, vendors, and the general public.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the day-to-day 24/7 operations and maintenance of the city’s information systems. 
 
Lead the analysis and design on both current and future systems to ensure they are running smoothly, securely, and efficiently. This includes architecting, analyzing, planning, deploying, and documenting future systems and upgrades.
 
Develop and implement secure configurations, policies, and procedures. Ensure that information systems are maintained in accordance with best practices and security standards. Staying abreast of current security threats and proactively scanning City information systems for vulnerabilities. Work with IT team members to address and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
 
Lead and coordinate the work of a project team; guide and formulate project needs and requirements; manage and complete projects within specific time and budget requirements and constraints.
 
Modify and adapt existing and future City data processing systems based on best business practices. Perform Database Administration duties necessary for efficient and effective business and IT operations. Create departmental reports and assist users in creating reports for all business units.
 
Maintain data integrity with backup, archiving and recovery processes; Develop and update procedures for disaster recovery, perform file restoration, prepare application security reports.
 
Assist other IT staff on projects and perform end user support on the various systems the IT Department is responsible for.
 
Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation for City Systems including but not limited to; installation; configuration; maintenance and operation.
 
May perform other duties as assigned.
 
Create a positive experience for customers through professional and courteous behavior and creative problem-solving techniques. Maintain cooperative working relationships with City staff, other organizations and the general public.
 
Follow all safety rules and procedures for work areas.
AUXILIARY JOB FUNCTIONS: 
Provide assistance to other staff as workload and staffing levels dictate. Maintain proficiency by attending training and meetings, reading materials, and meeting with others in areas of responsibility. Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
 
Lead or participate on cross-functional project teams identified to design and implement business solutions. Assist IT Manager and Director with management of tasks as needed. May be asked to work on tasks related to the City’s broadband utility, Sherwood Broadband.JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Comprehensive experience working with IT systems including database systems, server administration, storage area networks, Active Directory, cloud architectures, systems analysis and design, and business processes. Thorough knowledge of Information Security principles, practices, standards. Experience developing and implementing Information Technology processes that bring efficiency to IT and/or Business operations. Strong business and analytical skills in the areas of systems, design, best business practices, information security, and troubleshooting. Equivalent to a four-year University education in computer/information science, or business administration, and over five years of relevant experience, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the senior level knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
 
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES: Ability to maintain confidentiality and clear a Criminal Justice Information Systems background check.
 
DESIRABABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated senior level experience with Microsoft SQL, IIS, Software Development, NetApp SAN’s, VMWare Virtualization, Amazon Webservices and Microsoft Azure. Advanced experience in Information Security and/or CISSP certification or equivalent.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION: 
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc., and may infrequently require moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS: 
Usual office working conditions. The noise level in the work area is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises. Work on a rotating on-call basis and be available to respond to system issues and outages as necessary
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to volunteers, students and newly assigned personnel on site policies and practices.
 
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: 
Works under the general supervision of the IT Manager.
