The City of Salisbury is currently seeking motivated candidates for temporary summer Lifeguard positions within the Parks and Recreation Department. Main duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining constant surveillance of assigned area of responsibility, enforcing, and adhering to all pool rules and regulations, rescuing swimmers in danger, performing routine facility care, and instructing aquatic programs.
This seasonal position will begin May 1, 2024 and will last through the summer months. Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR/AED certifications are required and cannot expire until after September 2, 2024 in order to be eligible to work the entire summer season.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must be available to work the entire period of the specific program with minimal vacation. This includes days, nights, and weekends.
- Strong leadership and communication skills required.
- Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR/AED certifications are required and cannot expire until after September 2, 2024 in order to be eligible to work the entire summer season.
Closing Date: Open until filled
Hiring Range: $14.71 (Depending on experience) $500.00 sign-on bonus to be paid as a lump sum after completion of a successful probationary period
