Under the direct supervision of the Water/Wastewater Maintenance Foreman, or designee. Performs unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor related to the City's water and wastewater systems in the Water/Wastewater Division of the Public Works Department. Assignments include construction, maintenance, and/or truck and equipment operations, in accordance with all applicable City codes and Departmental policies. Requires the ability to be contacted by telephone for call-out after hours. Work is reviewed through observations and obtained results.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Installs, repairs, and maintains flow meters, main and service lines, valves, hydrants and other component parts of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
Operates machinery and equipment used in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
Patches and repairs streets with soil, rock, asphalt or other materials.
Lays sod, restores landscapes in work areas.
Locates property lines, utility services, and inspects water and wastewater lines, valves, and manholes.
Uses a variety of hand and power tools such as shovels, picks, power saws, drills, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
