June 11 – July 13 (5 weeks); Tuesdays 8:30am; Thursdays 9:00 – 11:30 am; Wednesdays and Fridays 9:00 am – 3:00 pm; Saturdays 9:00 am – 12:30 pm.
Description:
The Tech Intern assists with load-in and load-out of the puppet show each week. He/she conducts sound check and runs the lighting and audio consoles for the puppet show daily (shows last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour). The intern is the primary liaison to the Puppeteer, unlocking the green room each morning, assisting with set up and break down, turning on walk-in music, and turning off stage and house lights at the end of each day.
Requirements:
Demonstrated interest in the Performing Arts. Previous technical experience with audio and lighting preferred. Must be professional, energetic, responsible, and courteous and have the ability to multi-task and work as a member of a team. Must be 18 years of age or older.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work requires the ability to exert some physical effort, which may involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials 5-50 pounds in weight. Tasks may require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is regularly performed with exposure to outside environmental and weather conditions.
