City of Raleigh is Hiring a Communications and Fiscal Analyst Near Raleigh, NC

Job Description

Are you passionate about facilitating effective communication and ensuring internal teams have seamless access to necessary content? The Raleigh Parks Technology and Analytics Group is seeking a dynamic and skilled individual to join our team in a new capacity. Earlier this year, we launched the Raleigh Parks Hub Site on SharePoint, serving as a centralized platform for staff to stay informed, access resources, and stay updated on relevant matters. In this role, you will spearhead the continual management of the Raleigh Parks Hub Site, collaborating with colleagues across departments to curate content. Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining the site's integrity, fostering its reputation as a vital departmental asset. This will involve creating informative articles, moderating content, conducting ongoing quality assurance of site links, as well as handling reporting and other duties to ensure the ongoing success of the hub site. Additionally, you will contribute to the annual Raleigh Parks technology planning and budgeting process by assisting in cost tracking, reporting, and aiding in the development of the annual operating budget.
The ideal candidate for this role will be energetic, collaborative, and proactive, with a passion for effective communication. They should possess prior experience in communications and be eager to contribute to various tasks as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage a departmental communication hub site utilizing SharePoint.
  • Craft internal news articles to keep staff informed and engaged.
  • Ensure the integrity and accessibility of resources and content by maintaining links and updating document libraries.
  • Oversee content sharing to ensure relevant information reaches the intended audience.
  • Maintain and update budget spreadsheets to accurately track financial resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Education and Experience
High School Diploma (or GED) and two or more years of experience in Communications.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire, and a satisfactory driving record.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly SharePoint and Teams.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint site design principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through clear and effective communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Aptitude for accurate record-keeping and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capability to document processes and procedures effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, logical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Dedication to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Good interpersonal skills to foster positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
ADA and Other Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: standing, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Working Conditions:
Work is routinely performed in an indoor, office environment.
