ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as dictated by operational necessity

• Performs general maintenance work associated with City buildings.
• Performs preventive building maintenance duties.
• Performs wall spackling, repairs drywall, holes in walls, and paints as needed.
• Constructs, repairs, and installs building frameworks and structures made from wood and other materials.
• Assembles and moves furniture, hangs pictures and bulletin boards, wall mount electronics and ceiling fans and mounts security cameras.
• Assembles and moves furniture, hangs pictures and bulletin boards, makes name plates, moves and sets up tables and chairs, wall mount electronics, ceiling fans or security cameras.
• Run cables.

• Knowledge of general maintenance practices as they relate to the upkeep of buildings and structures.
• Knowledge of the tools including power tools, equipment, and materials necessary to the upkeep of buildings and structures.
• Knowledge of the good safety practices in carrying out the duties of this position.
• Skill in the use of the tools including power tools, equipment, and materials necessary to the upkeep of buildings and structures.
• Able to identify the work that needs to be done and the tools to carry out the tasks.
• Able to interact effectively with various departments and personnel throughout the City.
• Able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Able to work effectively either alone or in a group situation.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from high school, or a GED from a properly accredited institution of learning.
• Must have five (5) years’ experience in similar type of work.
• Must have mechanical skills.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
