Position will be located at the Foundry Garage and the schedule is Thursday - Sunday 9:30pm-7:30am.

NATURE OF WORK
The purposes of this position are to assist in providing for the proper use and maintenance of the City's parking facilities and to collect parking fees. Facility supervision work includes taking a periodic inventory of available parking spaces, placing temporary direction signs to available parking, reminding motorists of proper parking requirements, providing visual facility security services, notifying the police of the need for their services, and posting the facility "full" as appropriate. The position performs light maintenance services when not required to be at an attendant's booth or other assigned facility supervisory location. Parking fees are collected from customers according to the City's fee schedule and identified procedures. Performance is subject to review according to the City's personnel plan through observation, reports, and the results achieved.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. 1. Loads ticket dispensing machines. Maintains ticket control records. Checks machines for proper operation, and advises his/her supervisor of required maintenance.
2. Calculates parking duration and the appropriate parking fee. Receives cash payments. Calculates and provides the proper change due. Verifies parking permit validity. Performs fee collection daily cash proofs as required.
3. Inspects the assigned facility for parking space availability, proper vehicle parking, and general cleanliness. Looks for inappropriate customer behavior or other suspicious activity and reports same to the police according to proscribed procedures. Posts and otherwise directs customers to the closest available parking. Removes and appropriately disposes of trash and debris. Observes, appropriately corrects, and reports problems experienced by customers in their use of the parking facility.
4. Cleans and performs light maintenance to parking attendant booths, storage and common service areas including light bulb replacements, incidental painting, sweeping, shoveling snow from entrances and walkways, and applying deicing chemicals. Advises his/her supervisor of other required facility maintenance e.g., elevator repairs, surface repairs, potential hazards, space striping, and refurbishing stairwells, waiting areas, etc.
EXAMPLES OF OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Provides directions to customers, when asked and if known, of other parking availability, to commercial establishments, to tourist attractions, and the proper procedures for paying parking fines or how to appeal citations.
2. Observes and appropriately reports suspicious activity or other public safety emergencies outside the facility.
3. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

ENVIRONMENT, WORKING CONDITIONS, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT
Work is performed in and outside in all weather conditions in fully and partially exposed parking facilities and in restricted movement parking attendant booths. Moderate physical dexterity, strength, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required to perform light maintenance work and post parking facilities. He/she must be able to perform routine time duration and cash transaction calculations, hear normal sounds, distinguish sound as voice patterns and communicate through human speech.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants for this position must have graduated from high school or have a graduate equivalent diploma (GED), previous work experience which demonstrates the ability to work in a positive manner with customers, have a valid drivers license, and have no offenses which would prohibit or restrict bonding by any carrier or agent providing coverage to the City.
