Starting pay rate is between $21.13 - $23.30 an hour based on experience and per the 1386A Working Agreement. Aside from regular working hours, position may be eligible for overtime and on call.

The purpose of this position are to pick up and otherwise clear refuse, garbage, vegetation and other debris in all weather conditions from curbs and roadsides and leave collection areas generally clean. Other seasonal clearing and cleaning operations are also performed. The work involves constant safety awareness, the ability to recognize and take appropriate actions regarding hazardous materials and to use hand tools.

Applicants for this position must have graduated from high school or have earned a graduate equivalent diploma (GED), have a working knowledge of how to care for, operate and use tools and equipment effectively and efficiently and have not less than two years’ experience in construction or maintenance work.
New hires must obtain before the end of their probationary period and incumbents must possess a valid commercial driver’s license, class B and have no offenses which would prohibit or restrict insurability by any insurance carrier providing coverage to the City.
Additional certifications and licensing may be required.
