Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Director of Parks and Recreation. As the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of park management and recreational programs within our organization. This is a leadership role that requires strong administrative skills, a passion for education, and experience working with students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for park maintenance, improvements, and recreational programs
- Manage the day-to-day operations of parks and recreational facilities
- Supervise and provide guidance to park staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to develop partnerships and enhance recreational opportunities
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe environment for park visitors
- Develop and manage the department budget, including monitoring expenses and revenue generation
- Oversee the planning and execution of special events and community programs
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in parks and recreation management
Qualifications:
- Must have a certification or a Baccalaureate Degree in the field of parks and recreation and/or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience in parks management or related field
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of budgeting principles and financial management
- Ability to think strategically and make sound decisions
