JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under close supervision, provides semi-skilled maintenance and repair support for the City’s Streets and rights-of-ways.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED. The equivalent of three (3) years of facilities and roadway construction maintenance experience is desirable.
• Ability to be contacted by telephone for call-out after hours.
• Requires Florida CDL Class B license with air brake and tanker endorsements to be obtained within twelve (12) months of date of hire.
• Work involves difficult working positions and movement of objects weighing up to 95 pounds. Performs semi-skilled labor in mainly outdoor conditions constantly exposed to heat, cold, adverse weather, uneven terrain, traffic, fumes, water, fields, chemicals, solvents, moving objects, insects, and toxic plants, etc.
• Operates small equipment such as shovel, pick, chain saw, edger and mowers to heavy equipment including trucks, tractor, backhoe, traffic roller, and steel wheel roller.
• Requires the physical ability to perform all job functions including the ability to walk, push, bend, stoop, carry, lift, push, dig, and climb.
