City of Phoenix is Hiring an Utility Billing Collections Supervisor II Near Phoenix, AZ
About This PositionThe Water Services Department is currently searching for a Utility Billing Collections Supervisor II (Water Customer Services Supervisor II) who will oversee the Credit and Collections Team. The Collections team is mainly responsible for reviewing accounts both before and after they are referred to a third-party collector. Additional functions of Credit and Collections is to manage accounts with an aged debt, managing bankruptcies, and reviewing water theft cases. The Supervisor II is responsible for day-to-day operations which include performance management, scheduling, ensuring compliance within all policies and procedures. Additional Duties Include
Managing employees.
Billing inquiries where employees provide general account information to the public.
Resolving customer issues.
Taking a high volume of questions from the public.
Reviewing, auditing, and reconciling financial reports.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Ability to:
Utilize various computer systems.
Successfully plan the work of employees, lead, coach, and evaluate teams.
Write professional reports, letters, and memos to internal and external customers to resolve problems including those referred by executive leadership.
C ontinuously improve operations through collecting, evaluating, and analyzing data to develop quality control procedures with accountability measures.
Proficiency in Spanish is desirable.
SALARY Pay Range: $55,806.40 to $100,235.20 annually. Hiring Range: $55,806.40 to $86,590.40 annually. Pay Range Explanation

Six years of experience within a private utility, municipal utility, or call center that provides customer services in one or more of the following areas: collections, data processing, cash handling, customer billing, meter reading, meter repair and replacement, or customer complaint resolution.
Three years of supervisory experience, including one year of experience supervising field or office operations as a first level supervisor.
Supplemented by some college level course work in data processing, business communications, and supervisory practices.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum may be substituted.

Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or related field.
Experience in/with:
Utilizing CC&B.
Utility collections.
Supervising collections.
Third party collection agencies.
Financial auditing and reconciliation.
Reviewing, auditing, and reconciling large financial reports.
Managing team performance including attendance, call performance, and quality.
Supervising in a fast-paced and high-volume utility maintenance service environment.
Managing contact center performance in a high-volume contact center inclusive of phone, email, web, and chat communication channels.
