The Day Trip Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing day trips and outings for the community. This role involves coordinating transportation, selecting destinations, managing logistics, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants. The Day Trip Coordinator collaborates with various vendors, communicates with participants, and works to create engaging and enriching experiences for attendees. This position is part-time based on trip schedule on program needs. Estimated number of trips per year (6), estimated number of Senior Events per year (3-5).

The majority of work and planning will be done outside of the Parks & Recreation office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Research trip opportunities.
• Create trip budgets based on transportation, lodging, entry/service fees, and other costs.
• Determine trip minimum and maximums.
• Promote trips through networking, fliers, etc.
• Arrange all trip details and create trip itineraries.
• Distribute and retrieve trip evaluations and return an update on responses to the Recreation Supervisor after each trip

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have demonstrated ability to plan group activities or special events and trips.
• Must be physically able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be extremely detail oriented and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to travel long distances by bus.
• Must be available for chaperoning trips during daytime hours.
