Head Football Coaching Requirements
The head coach must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and exhibit a lifestyle of obedience that reflects a total commitment to Him. The candidate will be asked in the interview process to share a testimony of how Jesus Christ called him/her to this saving faith.
The head coach will model his/her life after the earthly example of Jesus Christ and through the absolute truth of the Bible. He/She will teach Biblical principles to his/her team, as well as pray for and with the players.
The head coach must have high school or college experience as an offensive and/or defensive coordinator. This coordinator experience includes, but is not limited to, breaking down film of opponents, creating a game plan, planning/scripting all practices, preparing a game call sheet, and evaluating player performance (film).
The head coach must have and be able to articulate a twelve-month plan covering every facet of the football program. This includes, but is not limited to, player leadership training, strength and agility training, recruiting of players for college football, offensive/defensive/special teams systems, in-season and off-season planning/activities, professional development for assistant coaches, parental involvement/communication plan, and media/public relations plan.
Head Football Coaching Expectations
The head coach will prioritize the building of character, citizenship, and academics over simply winning games.
The head coach will be knowledgeable of and follow all Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) guidelines, as well as the policies of the Christian School District.
The head coach will properly supervise all program-related activities, with particular emphasis on safety. He/She will report all injuries to the athletic trainer, and all serious injuries to the athletic director and school nurse. He/She will complete an Incident/Accident/Injury Report for all injuries.
The head coach will organize athletic awards/banquet that recognize team/player accomplishments at the conclusion of the season.
The head coach will report scores and summaries of contests to media outlets and MSHSAA.
The head coach will create and use a systematic method of communication for players, parents, and administration.
