As a Seasonal Laborer, you will be tasked with performing maintenance duties such as repairing or replacing asphalt, concrete work, storm drain maintenance, hydrant maintenance, sewer jetting, and assisting with the city's cross-connection program. The Seasonal Laborer position is a team-oriented position that works closely with other City of Novi departments to assist with maintenance activities and investigate citizen complaints or concerns.

Candidates must have knowledge of basic mechanical repair practices used to properly maintain assigned equipment, general knowledge of hand tools, and have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license to be a Seasonal Laborer. A chauffeur's license is preferred.

Wage Hours:

• Salary : Starting at $15.50/hour or more based on previous experience.
• Hours: Work shifts Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm with up to 37.5 hours of work per week. We need candidates for the Seasonal Laborer role to work as early as April until as late as November, but we are flexible with your schedule and what you are looking for.
• Additional incentive :A seasonal employee who continues to work beyond August 16 and had worked a minimium of 60 days will then be eligible for a $2.00/hour pay increase for the remainder of the season for that calendar year.
• Position duration :Position duration is May 1 to October 31. All hired seasonal employees will be eligible for rehire in May 2025 if they meet standards set forth by the department.
