Performs duties of a responsible nature assisting a Department Director or administrative superior. Ensures the general promotion of a positive departmental image with the community.
This is responsible administrative, technical and difficult administrative work performing duties which help relieve an administrative supervisor of assigned operational duties. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Department Director or other functional supervisor. Work products are reviewed through personal conferences, proper preparation and execution of written documents, or evaluation of completed assignments to ensure conformance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, rules and regulations. An employee in a position allocated to this class may have considerable contact with the general public, City officials and City employees. Work performed is often of a sensitive or confidential nature.
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; plus, two (2) years’ experience in responsible and varied administrative work. Extensive training in Microsoft Office, EXCEL, and/or other applicable software packages which would ensure the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

An equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
