City of Norman, OK is Hiring a Program Coordinator - Young Family Athletic Center (POOL) Near Norman, OK

Salary: $25.41 per hour
Job Type : 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday or as required.

This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: (All incumbents may not perform all duties.)

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and premier partners to define program objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with program partners, stakeholders, and community organizations.
  • Support the development of program plans, including goals, strategies, and key performance indicators.
  • Collect and synthesize program data to produce reports and inform program management.
  • Coordinate and monitor program activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among program participants, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Provide support to program teams, resolving issues and addressing challenges as they arise.
  • Manage program budgets, including forecasting, tracking expenses, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Recruit, hire, and train aquatic staff to fill the needs of the programs, and events.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation on the aquatic facility and help support the needs of the basketball and Aquatics department.
  • Run all swim meet operations. This includes Timing system, scoreboards, and the Meet Manager program.
  • All other duties as assigned.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

Uniform will be provided, Equipment will include the Colorado Timing System, Colorado Touch pads, Timing Console, Score Boards for both basketball and Pool, and all Wallboards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sports and Recreation, Project Management, Social Sciences).
  • Knowledge of aquatic programing and recreation concepts, program delivery, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Must be currently certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor
  • Must possess and maintain Aquatic Facility Operator and/ or Certified Pool Operator
  • Must obtain a Lifeguard Instructor Trainer Certification with 1 years.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must possess a valid state Driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
  • USA Swimming Colorado timing equipment training and certified within the 6 month of working
  • USA Swimming Meet Manager Certified within the first 6 months of working
  • Obtain the CPRP certification within the first year.

Must be able to work between and office environment and a pool environment back to the pool again

Working Conditions:

Working in a hot and humid environment, ability to lift a minimum of 65lbs.
