City of Noblesville is Hiring an Equipment Maintenance Technician/Mechanic Near Noblesville, IN
Serve as an Equipment Maintenance Technician for the Street Department, responsible for repairing and maintaining a variety of engines, systems, and equipment.
Operates, repairs, and maintains various models of trucks and equipment.
Diagnoses and repairs issues for a variety of engines, systems, and equipment.
Performs preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment; test drives repaired vehicles; performs welding or fabrication tasks.
Assists in cleaning and maintaining vehicles and equipment.
Researches and finds information using multiple outlets, including the internet and technical manuals.
Conducts field repairs in the case of emergency or sudden breakdown.
Operates 800 Mhz radio for communications between Police, Fire and office personnel.
Incumbent occasionally works extended evening or weekend hours and are on 24-hour call for emergency situations as assigned.
May be required to work other shifts as needed, or to cover vacant positions due to vacations, sickness or other absenteeism.
Performs related duties as assigned.
High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years of job-related work experience.
Technical school for gasoline engines and/or Diesel engines preferred.
Possession of at least a valid Class B commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement or the ability to obtain within a specified time period.
Incumbent must have a demonstrated safe driving record and remain insurable by the City of Noblesville’s liability insurance carrier.
