A combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities to qualify. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Three years of community preparedness program coordination experience. Fire or Marine Safety department experience is highly desirable.
Education: Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade. Additional college coursework or training in emergency preparedness is desirable for the Community Preparedness Services position.
License or Certificate:Due to the performance of some field duties, which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.
For the Community Preparedness Services position, completion of the following FEMA courses must be completed within six months of hire:
